Deloitte Technology Fast 50TM program overview
Launched 15 years ago, the Technology Fast 50™ program celebrates the world-class achievements and the tremendous evolution of the Canadian technology sector.
The Technology Fast 50TM awards and rankings are presented in distinct categories that characterize and define the unique strengths of Canadian innovation. Deloitte knows first-hand that these awards are an important opportunity not just to celebrate, but to recognize the passion, integrity and vision that has propelled the Canadian technology sector.
Combining technological innovation, entrepreneurship and rapid growth, Technology Fast 50™ companies - small, large, public, private - span a variety of industry sectors and are leaders in hardware, software, telecom, digital media and emerging areas such as clean technology. Technology Fast 50™ companies are making a difference in Canada's technology community.
Award categories:
- Technology Fast 50TM ranking
Recognizes the 50 fastest growing Canadian technology companies with the highest percentage revenue growth over five years. Qualifying companies must have headquarters in Canada, have been in business for at least five years, have revenues of at least $5 million, own proprietary technology, and conduct research and development activities in Canada. - Companies-to-Watch awards
Based on some of the same criteria as the Technology Fast 50™ ranking, this award honours Canadian technology companies in business less than five years that have the potential to be a future Technology Fast 50™ candidate. Companies must possess the management experience and superior technology that mark a successful early-stage company poised for continued growth. - Technology Fast 50TM Leadership awards
These awards are presented to companies that demonstrate technological leadership in four industry subcategories: hardware/semiconductor, software, telecommunications, and emerging technologies. These companies are the elite members of the Canadian technology industry. Their ability to create a distinct competitive advantage in a high-growth market allows them to dominate their sector and quickly join the ranks of other Canadian global leaders. A panel of subject matter experts evaluate companies based on four key criteria: competitive advantage; size, growth and market attractiveness; management effectiveness and organization; and financial performance. - Technology Green 15TM awards
Technology Green 15™ companies are chosen based on their ability to develop technology solutions and intellectual property that promote a more efficient use and re-use of the earth's resources. These companies reduce or eliminate environmental impacts while improving operational performance and productivity.
